Valentine's Day was not exactly something to look forward to given that Tory is 8000 miles away. But it actually turned out to be a fun day with the kids overall. Andrew's preschool class had a valentine's party on the 13th and he made a cute card, silly hat, and a craft box to bring home.
The base family center organized an outing for families with deployed spouses for the afternoon/evening. We went up to Build-A-Bear at the mall and each kid made a bear. It was fun for the kids, and despite a line of close to 100 kids at the store it went pretty smoothly. Andrew's bear has Spiderman PJs and a skateboard. Emily's has PJs with little ducks and "chicks rule" on them and has pink Crocs (keeping with her shoe obsession).
