Emily is 18 months today. I still call her “the baby” but she is really becoming a toddler with quite a little personality.
She loves: shoes, her lovies (woo woo bear, blankie), Andrew, running away, chairs, climbing, screaming, kisses, drawing, hats.
She has so many words – way too many to even list, probably close to 50.
She does really cute animal sounds.
She knows most of her body parts – loves pointing out eyes and ears.
She likes to scream -- happy, sad, mad, excited. All emotions are accompanied by a screech.
She is VERY persistent.
She is a snuggler, especially first thing in the morning and when getting tired.
She likes pens, markers, crayons. I went to get her from the gym daycare today and she had managed to find a marker and colored all over her ankles and backs of her legs.
She still sucks her thumb, but only in bed or if really tired in the car.
She does not like being confined – strollers, high chairs… she says OUT until she gets her way.
She is so different from Andrew. It’s funny to think back of how Andrew was at this age. I don’t know if it’s a gender difference or just different personalities. It will be fun to see how they both develop into their own little individual entities. She had her first lollipop this month. It kept her occupied for most of Andrew’s t-ball game. She was all sticky and I think she ate it even after she put it down in the dirt (yuck!) but was so proud of herself when the stick was empty.
This is such a fun and busy age. She keeps me on my toes and running all the time. But when it's accompanied by a "wuv ew" who can resist?
Update: had her 18 mo appointment. She is about 21.5 pounds and 32 inches.
