Fun fall weekend

What a week! We found out last week that Tory was being deployed for a year. After three days of craziness we got a call late on Friday night that it had been canceled. A total emotional roller coaster -- I think I aged at least 10 years in three days. He was supposed to head out to training in November, so it was a short notice assignment. It is a very big relief to know he will not be leaving. It will take Tory a few days to undo some of the process (they already had his uniforms ordered and he was getting his final out-processing started). Hopefully by the end of the week things will get back to normal around here. That was coupled with other family stuff, Andrew finding out his teacher was leaving and a hectic schedule of fall events to deal with.

In the end we did have a fun weekend. Tory pitched the tent in the backyard and we had a campfire and slept outside in the tent. I actually came back inside and slept in my bed, but Tory supervised the camp-out in the tent. We went and carved pumpkins at a friend's house and went to the squadron Halloween party on base.
