I am amazed by how confusing family relationships are to my kids -- Andrew pretty much has it down now, but Emily kept asking "who's mommy are you?" and "who is your kid?" trying to figure out the family tree. The kids always call Tory's mom "Washington Grandma" and my mom "Virginia Grandma" but it was funny to be in Virginia and hear them calling her "Virginia Grandma." We have always had to travel to see extended family so they associate them with where they live.

Virginia visit - fall break 2009
We spent part of fall break in Richmond seeing my mom and sister (the first half was in North Carolina). The kids loved painting with grandma and playing outside with their cousins. We had dinners with 11 people and enjoyed all hanging out. Its only about once a year that we can all get together so it was nice to visit and the fall is always a great time to go.
