Santa's F-16 arrival

One of the best things about our assignment here at Luke is being attached to the 62nd Fighter Squadron. We have made great friends and have really enjoyed all the social opportunities - its a great group of people who really treat each other like family. We enjoyed another weekend of Christmas activities with the Spikes this year.

Santa made his yearly appearance in the jet. The kids all run out from the hanger to the edge of the flight line and watch Santa get out of the F-16 with his big red sack. He comes inside to meet with the kids and gives each of them a small gift. The kids LOVE it... standing out on the runway watching Santa climb down the ladder from an F-16 is not something everyone gets to experience. The first year we were here Santa actually came down the runway in the jet, but apparently Santa's suit does not meet the Air Force regulation for Nomex flame retardant so this year he was not out on the active runway. I guess even Santa is subject to USAF regulations.
