Be careful what you wish for...

My kids have been wishing for a white Christmas since the day they heard we were going to spend Christmas in Germany. Apparently they should have been more specific. We are currently snowed-in here in England and snowed out of Germany. Our flight over the weekend was cancelled and we'll try again in round two when the airports and runways all re-open. No telling if we'll make it out. It is apparently the worst winter storm across Europe in 20 years.

In the meantime we've enjoyed a lazy day at home playing games, eating Christmas cookies and watching movies and another day in town with friends riding the carousel and seeing the lights in town. Could be worse, I suppose.

It has been a crazy busy month: kids in Christmas plays, Scouts caroling, school caroling, Christmas parties, Christmas baking and cookie exchanges, Christmas fairs and markets.

Andrew had one of the lead roles in his play and Emily was an angel in the preschool play. Both did a great job.

Some highlights of the past few weeks:
We baked gingerbread cookies:

Saw Santa, met his reindeer and sat in his sleigh:

 Sang carols with Beaver Scouts:

Took the kids to see the Harlem Globetrotters:

Finished the indoor soccer season:

Emily did a great job at her ballet class:

Took a ride on the Christmas carousel in Bury St Edmunds:

So with all that done, we are ready for a relaxing Christmas.
