Have you ever seen a frozen spider web?
It is really pretty amazing. We have lots of spiders in our back garden in the summer but I didn't realize how many webs were still around until we saw them all frozen this morning. Today it was cold and clear, unlike last night's pea-soup fog. The combination of wet last night and super cold this morning left everything with a thin layer of ice and frost. Beautiful.
We have had an unusually cold winter so far with a few days of snow. Everyone told us it never snows here in November, but Thanksgiving weekend proved that wrong and more is expected this week.
The kids made a (very) mini snowman on the swing, and Emily and Maggie enjoyed walking around in it. Andrew and his friends threw snowballs at each other.
So we are surviving winter so far. It is dark and cold. The photos of the street and trees were taken at 9AM and you can see that even on a clear day it is not bright and sunny. And it is dark at 4PM with the sun starting to go down by 3:30. At least it is only until February that it will be this dark.
