If you are waiting for the welcome home picture.....

....so are we. Tory is still in Germany. We talked last night and they were apparently still unable to get the part for the airplane radio that was broken. All of their bags and gear are still loaded on the plane so he has been living out of whatever he managed to pack into his carry-on bag. He and 3 friends from his base in UAE are there together so they rented a car and have been doing some local sightseeing, drinking the local beer and passing the time. They are all anxious to get home but can't do much about it at this point.

He said leaving on Tuesday was "optimistic" so at this point we don't really have a timeline. Apparently if they couldn't get the plane fixed today there was a chance they would unload and re-route them. Its not like unloading a commercial flight, everything is loaded on pallets and apparently it is a time-consuming process to unload it all and get it moved somewhere else. So for now pretend I never said he was on his way home and I'll just start over with an email that says he's in the US when we gt to that point!

On the home front....
Its 105 degrees this week. The air conditioner is broken downstairs-- speaking of parts needed, the fan that is broken in the AC will be in stock today so I should have a functioning AC by tomorrow tonight.

Andrew's last day of preschool is Wednesday. Next year he will be in a 5-day morning program since he's too young for Kindergarten in AZ but I will enjoy the 2 months of no school. We'll sign him up for some type of indoor activity for the summer. He really wants to do Karate but we haven't decided yet what will work out with the other things scheduled.

Emily is loving swimming. She is a little daredevil. Loves jumping in and splashing and putting her face under the water. She is taking lessons to learn to float and swim to the side of the pool. Its amazing to watch them teach her - we did the same lessons with Andrew and I definitely would recommend them if you have a pool or live near water (www.infantswim.com).

I have managed to escape the house a few times. I went out with some friends for Sushi one night and to a nice no-shower-game baby shower. I've done a bit of scrapbooking and organized a bunch of pictures and crafty odds and ends. Now that its getting hot there will be fewer park outings and more pool playdates too.

We have a trip planned to go to California the first week of June. We'll go to Legoland and Disney and a day at the beach. Since Emily is still too small for most of the rides it will be mainly for Andrew, but also just to get away with all of us and have a change of scenery.

A few pictures:
Emily swimming, Andrew's end of soccer party and Andrew's preschool Spring concert at school.

And one from my girls night out.
