A once in a lifetime chance! I was very fortunate to participate in the spouse taxi rides at Luke AFB. While we didn't get to actually take-off, they suited us up, gave us all the safety briefings and sent us speeding down the runway with one of the instructor pilots. The actual ride was short, but the preparation and anticpation were just as fun. I also got a tour of the air traffic control tower which was also really interesting. A fun send-off during our final weeks in AZ.
