Easter week pictures

I finally feel compelled to post some pictures from Easter week. These events were all weeks ago now, but better late than never.

I took the kids fishing up at a local park. It was sponsored by the base family center for deployed families. It actually seems like a strange choice of activities since mostly it is the dads who are deployed and very few moms I know are really into fishing. But it was nice to sit outside and they had a few Fish and Wildlife staff members there to help the kids (and moms) with getting everything set up. Andrew had a great time holding the rod and casting the line and putting hot dog on the hook for bait. He was disappointed he didn't catch anything but it was still a great outing. Emily was dangerously curious about the water but enjoyed waking around and sitting on the rocks.

Both kids loved the Easter Egg hunt. Emily was munching on all the candy and chocolate from her basket (and from her friend's baskets too). We still have a small stash of Easter goodies.

Shortly after these pictures things deteriorated around here and we had 7 straight days of Emily with a stomach virus. Andrew and I also got it but it only lasted a day. The only outing from our house all week was to the doctor's office. So after 20+ loads of laundry, the steam cleaning of the floor and a chair, the lysoling of the toys and general de-stinking of the house I think we are recovered and back to a somewhat normal routine.

This week I have my college roommate visiting for a few days and over the weekend a friend from Denver will be here to hang out. They were fortunate enough to miss the week of sickness!
