Wednesday adventures

Framlingham Castle and Market town

Wednesday is the only day that Emily is in school all day. She goes to a before school group when I drop Andrew at school in the morning, so I have from 9am until 3:15pm every Wednesday to myself. Another friend and I decided we would use Wednesday to go explore places, go shopping, or do other things that the kids would not necessarily enjoy doing. This was our first week, so we picked a town out of the English Heritage book and decided to drive out and see it. Within an hour's drive there are so many places to see in the three county area.

This is Framlingham castle, a 12th century fortress about 40 minutes from Bury St Edmunds. You can walk the top of the castle wall and from the top see into the market town and old town church. Its actually a place I will probably go back to with the kids, and its on the way to the coast (about 10 miles from the shore), so there is plenty more to explore in the area.
